Join Us for the Super-Adoption Event October 18-19th!
Are you looking for a family fun day activity? Do you and your children love animals? If you answered yes to either one of those questions, then join us for the Super-Adoption event and you just might end up giving a home to one of the beautiful shelter animals there! Did you know it is estimated that almost 40% of the pets that end up in shelters are purebred?
We at the Texas Alliance for Homeless Pets, in partnership with the ASPCA’s Mega Match-A-Thon and Subaru, have come together with 15 rescue shelters from the DFW area to feature more than 300 pets over this huge two-day event that are looking for a loving new home.
This is where you and your family come in! Join over 10,000 other people who will also be looking for their perfect pet over the course of the weekend. Not only can you find your dream, family-friendly animal but you and your kids can also enjoy a day at the Grapevine Mills Mall. With music, arts & crafts, bounce houses, food and pets, you can be sure to spend a great day (or two) with the loving animals ready for a home at the Super-Adoption event.
There are many great reasons to adopt a shelter animal, from the opportunity to save a life to the probability that they are already housetrained, shelter animals can be great family friendly pets. For those that have never considered adoption from a shelter, there are few things to keep in mind that can help you pick the right animal that fits the best in your home.
Some people go into the event with a specific breed or appearance in mind for their future pet. While some walk out with the pet that matches their criteria, it is important to keep your mind and heart open to whichever precious animal catches your eye. Whether it’s their big, puppy dog eyes or soft fur, you never know which animal will capture your heart. An open mind can open you and your children up to a whole new world of possibilities!
Once you find the animal that you want to bring into your family, you will be able to bring the animal home with you the very same day.
If you’re not ready to bring a pet into your home, the Super-Adoption event is still a great way to support your local shelters. Not only will your participation in the event raise awareness for the issue of pet overpopulation, but you can also choose to volunteer your time or money to the cause. Your participation may lead to more adoptions and build a stronger alliance between the shelters and the local communities. This alliance will help the two sides work together into the future to continue to provide homes and loving care to the shelter animals.
